The evening of
February 24 was a fabulous occasion of lovely harmony, sharp ensembles, elegant
dresses, heels, make-up, and an assortment of sentiments; all brought together
to form the making of a night never to be forgotten. The high school students
of this school year earned the opportunity to join the first ever Junior –
Senior Promenade and High School Ball Held at Max’s Restaurant. The program was
emceed by our handsome principal, Mr. Grecillio Mapili Jr. and of course the
ever lovely Mrs. Erlyn Laycano.
Everyone who was seated at the tables was
giddy with excitement and joy. The teachers were looking fabulous in their
formal wear as well as the students all complete with pearly white smiles. During
the ceremonial lighting of candles and exchange of corsages students sang to
the song Auld Lang Syne followed by the last will and testament of the seniors.
Of course, the giving of the sash of wisdom by Miss Alma Mater, Allyson Gilland
to Clyde Carmelo and key of responsibility, by Miss Senior, Trisha Viray to
Rand Evangelista, was also performed. Before Dinner, the OIC to the School
President, Ms. Donna Carino held the very touching inspirational message. Soon
it was time to eat and every table was enjoying the small talks and laughter.
A spicy intermission dance number was performed by selected students and lead by some of our talented teachers, which was also well applauded. Soon after was the cotillion dance that was well and amply practiced which ended in success. Finally, the long awaited portion of the program- Dance Party Time! Every one grabbed their partners and swayed to the music, some joined in the playful ‘Dougie battle’ which was quite enjoyable.
After all the enjoyment tears were shed by the emotional words of the advisory teachers; Mr. Romaine Ryle Aqunio and Mrs. Erlyn Lycano. The exchanging of hugs and the wishes of good luck lead to the crying and laughter that ended the program. All-in-all the celebration was pure success; very sentimental and very memorable.
